About the Provider

Dr. Dakakni is a neurocritical care and vascular neurologist who treats acute neurological disease. He has held many leadership and quality improvement positions in different academic and non-academic institutions in the USA. He is a fellow of the American College of CHEST physicians and continues to work with his colleagues to improve the field of neurology via a comprehensive multi-disciplinary approach that meets each patient's unique needs. He obtained his medical degree from Damascus University School of Medicine and then went to Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA for an Internal Medicine Internship. He also completed his Neurology residency at Temple University Hospital and then moved to Durham, NC where he finished his Neurocritical Care Fellowship. Dr. Dakakni offers patients who are hospitalized for any neurological problems a comprehensive evaluation and treatment plan through his years of extensive experience and training. He is more focused on stroke treatment that starts from prevention and working with the primary care physicians for public education to using different modern treatment options inside the hospital.
